Despite visiting Springfield, Ohio regularly for years, we had somehow never made the short drive over to Dayton, until this trip finally gave us a reason to fix that. Dayton turned out to be a much bigger city than Springfield, and famous for being the birthplace of aviation, which gave our walk downtown an extra layer of interest. We picked a beautiful fall day for it, and by the end were wondering why it had taken us so long to finally cross the twenty-five minutes over.
