For years we knew Calpe only as a place we zipped past on the way to somewhere else, never actually stopping. Seeing it from above with the drone finally showed us why that was a mistake – the Penon de Ifach rock rising straight out of the sea, a salt lake tucked in right behind the shoreline, and high-rises in between with some surprisingly interesting shapes. It gave us a much better sense of the city’s geography than we ever got at ground level.
