  I used this book while planning our recent trip (Dec.2012-Jan. 2013) to Sri Lanka and then referred to it regularly throughout the journey.
  During the planning phase of our trip, I used information from the book to help narrow down the places on the island that would be most appropriate for us to visit for the time frame that we had, which was 3 weeks instead of 3 months. Not only are the descriptions quite entertaining (very humorous!), but each chapter has wonderful pictures to accompany the stories. There are also links to their website where you can view additional pictures.
  Once we were on the island, I constantly referred to the book in order to refresh my memory about the history or importance of wherever we happened to be that day. My husband also enjoyed being able to get a solid overview of a place, which you will get from this book, without having to spend an entire day doing it.
  While they do not offer a lot of recommendations for hotels or restaurants, the ones they do recommend are good. Another benefit of a book such as this one is that you get ideas for those "off the beaten path" places that you might not otherwise see, such as the Kandy Garrison Cemetery, which is well worth a visit.
  I look forward to buying another "For 91 Days in..." in the future, and I highly recommend this series.
